Specially formulated to lather best with a shaving brush, this shaving soap builds a dense, stable lather for wet shaving. Cocoa & shea butters plus vegetable-based stearic acid generate a thick, dense cream, and a modest addition of coconut oil opens up the texture just enough to lift lather off the soap. Added vegetable glycerin gives the razor extra glide and moisturizes.

TO MAKE A RICH SHAVING LATHER WITH YOUR COLD PROCESS SHAVE SOAP AND A BRUSH:
- Soak your shaving soap for 2-3 minutes with warm water.
- Wet your shaving brush and shake out excess water.
- Load the bristles with soap by swirling your brush on the moistened puck of soap.
- Agitate the loaded brush in a mug, bowl, scuttle, or on your skin for at least 30 seconds to whip up a lather. If the lather is too thick, add water a teaspoon at a time. Continue to work the mixture until the lather has a texture similar to meringue: pulling the brush out of the silky smooth lather will leave stiff peaks.
- Apply the lather to your skin in a swirling motion, then switch to broad brushing strokes. This will help the hair stand up, lock in moisture, and protect your skin from irritation.

Details
Our cold process soaps are a blend of natural fatty acids found in oils and butters, and pure alkali (lye) which converts those fatty acids into soap and naturally occurring glycerin. With the lye completely consumed in the process, small amounts of moisturizing butters and oils are left in the soap. Different oils yield different properties; this shaving soap is structured to yield a thick, stable lather with gentle cocoa and shea butter. Coconut oil is added to give the soap the lift required to whip into a cream.
